I’ve never sailed before. Is this trip for me?
Absolutely. Many of our guests have little or no sailing experience. We’ll take care of the sailing while you simply relax and enjoy the journey.
Can I learn to sail?
Yes! If you’re interested, Captain Derrick is always happy to explain the basics, let you take the helm when conditions allow, or show you how different aspects of the boat work. Participation is completely optional.
What is included?
Your week includes seven nights aboard one of our beautiful catamarans, your private cabin with ensuite bathroom, daily breakfasts and fresh lunches, sailing throughout the Croatian islands, and the warm hospitality of your Canadian hosts, Jennifer and Derrick.
What isn’t included?
Flights, transportation to and from Croatia, accommodation before or after your sailing adventure, dinners ashore, alcoholic beverages, optional tours and excursions, e-bike rentals, entrance fees, travel and medical insurance, personal purchases, gratuities, and the shared boat kitty are not included.
What is the boat kitty?
The boat kitty is a shared onboard fund that covers many of the group’s common expenses during your sailing adventure. It helps pay for items such as groceries, fuel, marina and mooring fees, Wi-Fi, and other shared boat operating expenses.
For our Croatia and Greece sailing adventures, the boat kitty is €400 per cabin and is collected at the beginning of the trip.
If any funds remain at the end of the week, they will be divided equally among the participating cabins and returned.
How many guests are on each sailing?
To keep the experience relaxed and personal, we welcome a maximum of six guests aboard each week.
Will I have my own cabin?
Cabins are booked on a double-occupancy basis. If you’re travelling solo, please contact us to discuss the options that may be available.
Do the cabins have private bathrooms?
Yes. Each guest cabin has its own private ensuite bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower.
What meals are included?
Breakfast and fresh lunches are prepared aboard each day. Most evenings we’ll head ashore to enjoy authentic Croatian cuisine at family-run waterfront konobas.
Lunch is often enjoyed while anchored in one of Croatia’s beautiful bays. Add a glass of wine, a cold beer, or a refreshing mocktail, and it’s one of those simple moments that guests often remember long after the trip is over.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
We’ll do our very best. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements when you book so we can discuss whether we’re able to accommodate your needs.
What should I pack?
Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive The Saltie Guest Guide, which includes a detailed packing list, travel tips, arrival information, and everything you’ll need to prepare for your adventure.
Do I need to dress up?
Not at all. Life aboard is casual and comfortable. Bring what makes you feel relaxed. Many guests enjoy packing one nice outfit for dinner ashore, but otherwise, think summer holiday—not formal cruise.
Will I have Wi-Fi?
Yes. Wi-Fi is available throughout your sailing adventure. The cost is shared through the boat kitty, allowing everyone to stay connected if they choose.
Can I charge my phone and camera?
Yes. Our catamarans are equipped with USB charging ports so you can easily keep your devices charged throughout the week.
Does the boat have air conditioning?
Yes. Our catamarans are equipped with air conditioning, providing a comfortable place to cool off and enjoy a restful night’s sleep.
Are tours and excursions included?
Some experiences are included simply because they’re part of the journey, while others—such as winery visits, e-bike rentals, local attractions, and e-bike rentals—are optional and can be enjoyed if the group chooses.
Is Saltie Dreams LGBTQ+ friendly?

If you’re looking for a large-ship cruise or a fast-paced tour with a packed itinerary, this probably isn’t the right fit—and that’s perfectly okay.
