Join Jennifer and Derrick November 27–December 4, 2027, for seven nights of adventure, discovery and festive charm in Saxony, a beautiful corner of eastern Germany.
Our home is Landhaus Luise, a six-bedroom, 300-year-old countryside estate near Dresden. Think crisp mornings, welcoming rooms, a crackling fireplace and a big dining table made for good food, lively stories and another glass before bed.
Our days will take us far beyond the Christmas markets. Discover Dresden’s grand riverside architecture, hidden courtyards and extraordinary art. Explore medieval Bautzen, where colourful houses crowd winding lanes and centuries-old towers rise above the rooftops. Lace up your walking shoes for Bastei, where woodland trails lead to a spectacular stone bridge suspended among soaring cliffs, high above the river.
An Elbe River cruise becomes a day of adventure, watching the countryside unfold before stepping ashore to explore an elegant riverside palace and its grounds. Along the way, there’s time for local discoveries, tempting bakeries and the convivial spirit of German beer halls—hearty plates, clinking glasses and laughter around the table.
And yes, there’s Christmas magic too. Two market visits bring glowing wooden stalls, music, sizzling sausages, sweet treats and steaming mugs of mulled wine. Wander, taste, browse and soak it all in.
Then back to our estate, cheeks pink from the day’s adventures, ready to put our feet up and share the stories.
